The Diploma in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship will enable you to gain confidence in starting a business, or in working innovatively in an organisation to support growth within it. There is a wide range of engagement with local businesses, learning from other entrepreneurs, learning from their experiences, gaining valuable practical knowledge. The focus is on holistic development of the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills required to be able to succeed in employment and higher education.
Where can it lead?
The Diploma is the same as 3 A levels and has the same UCAS points. York, Nottingham, Leeds, Lincoln and other universities across the coutnry recognise and accept the Diploma so University could be your next step. Alternatively you might consider any of the following:
Own business, higher apprenticeships and Higher Education courses such as: FdSc Tourism and Enterprise Management, FdA Business and Enterprise, FdSc Enterprise and Small Business Development, HND Enterprise Information Systems. Business career opportunities are diverse and can include: business administration, marketing, accounting, logistics, human resource management, organisational development, sales or enterprise. The qualification also equips students with the skills to enter the selfemployed market as a sole trader or limited company
What will I study?
The course requires students to set up and run their own business. Assessment will be through both practical and written tasks. Our business hub area will be provided for students and business dress is to be worn. Students will also compelte work based projects with employers and attend other work based experiences, conferences and events. The course is approximately 40% practical/project and 60% assessed and you should expect to be spending blocks of time out of College in the work place and/or to have weekly days out in the work place.

How you are taught?
You will be taught by tutors who have real-life experience of working within the business industry. You can expect the course to be split so that approximately 40% is practical work and 60% is theory work. You shoud expect to be out of College for regular blocks of time.
You will be taught through lectures, group discussions and practical demonstrations. You’ll also get to go on trips to different locations, and this will include work placements. Placements allow you to develop your skills and knowledge in buisness by working in various work environments and looks good to future employers.
How you’ll be assessed
You’ll be assessed through written assignments, presentations, practical assessments, class tests and external exams.
